I seriously doubt BB will ever be a GM in the NHL again, he's just not that good at it. He can pull off a trade better than most, but he can't build, his biggest downfall.
But as I said in another blog, good for him for moving on. Love you guys!

He's not a set up guy, he's a finisher.
You give him a team that already has the core in place but can't seem to get over the hump, and he can put the finishing touches on it. |

Uh oh, Vancouver fans are back in full force. The Burke alarm must have sounded.
You guys seriously sound unhinged in your hatred of him. You are aware of that, right? |

I can't speak for others, but I don't like him at all. Started long before his association with the Leafs though. |

Mike Augello: Burke Back To Anaheim; Inquiries on Connolly, Leafs Vs Sabres - mikeinbuffalo
Could somebody clarify for me how Connolly could be traded?
My understanding from the last CBA was that a team could take him on waivers on the way down (and his full salary), or they could take him on re-entry waivers at half his salary.
To trade him, wouldn't you need to call him up? |

Yes, but the difference between not liking him and not being able to acknowledge the objective fact that he is good at his job are two separate things that seem to get muddled every time a Canucks fan speaks about him. |

Van Riemsdyk has been a good replacement for Lupul on the line with Kessel and Bozak so far, with Buffalo struggling the Leafs are going to win most likely. |

I don't think he is good at his job, could I be any more clear on that? Probably why he doesn't currently have a GM job. He's good at certain parts of his job, as a GM, I'll give him that. |

They've eliminated re-entry waivers, therefore a player only needs to clear waivers once to be sent down. He can be called up to the Leafs anytime now, but again, would have to clear waives to return to the AHL thereafter. |

Time to package Connolly + a D-man in order to get Gardiner back in the mix. |

and he doesn't need to be called back up before being traded. If traded he could report to his new team or the farm club. |

Technically the team Burke built is on the ice for the Bruins.
